Spend some time before your first day checking key information, such as HR documentation you need to bring with you, your commute, starting times and location, and even what you will wear. Not only will preparation reduce the risk of making any unnecessary mistakes but will also help ease your nerves. If working remotely, remember to test connections, passwords, and any software / equipment before your first day.

Ask questions

No one expects you to know everything, so don’t be afraid to ask questions and help yourself understand your new role, team, and environment as quickly as possible.
